Dear Disc Golf Enthusiast,

For a course like Tyler the work needed is never done, and there are always small and big things that need to be accomplished. Sometime it is as simple as going around the course and cleaning up, other times it is a huge undertaking like building a 36 foot long bridge. Currently we have a great core group of people who on a fairly regular basis help out and make Tyler what it is, one AWESOME course, but we are getting to the point were we could use a few good ‘extra hands’. So if you would like to help out and volunteer please contact Rex Hay () who will be more than willing to make sure your name is on a list for ‘Grounds Keeper Willy’ so when that next project comes up, we can call you.

The other aspect of our plea is, while the Park has been more than generous in their support of the club and their supply of materials, it is inevitable that there are expenses outside their ability to help, such as the need to purchase 90 brand new locks to secure the baskets. Again, we have a great core of people who help out with cash donations, but those monies are tight and we know there a lot of people out there that enjoy the course, and remember, they enjoy it at no cost. How about donating a few dollars to help us keep Tyler one of the PREMIER courses in North America? Think of it this way, some people spend $40 – $100 to go and play that other form of golf, and that’s only one round, why not spend $5, $10, or even $100 and enjoy playing all year long, as many rounds as you can possible. Every dollar that is donated will go into a fund just for course work none will be diverted to events or payouts.

Sincerely,
BCDGA Cabinet

Winter League Results – Week 16

February 23rd, 2013 Comments off

It is officially the end of the regular season.  Weeks 17 and 18 are for make ups only.  Players must have 15 or less weeks of play in to play during Week 17 or Week 18.  Regular tee off times are in effect – 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM.  Players who need 2 or more make ups may play more than one round each week, but no more than they have missed.

Check your weeks played to see how many you need for payouts or next year’s handicap.

Thank you all for another successful year of Winter League!

Well, Sunday is the last week of regular play.  Weeks 17 and Week 18 are designated for make ups.  Only players who have missed 1 or more weeks of play are eligible to have scores recorded for those two weeks.  Keep in mind the magic numbers: 9 weeks of play needed to keep or earn your handicap for next year;  12 weeks of play are needed to be eligible for payout.

Thank you to the players who support this fun event and make it happen.

Winter League Results – Week 14

February 9th, 2013 Comments off

Here are the result for Week 14.  Congrats to Maggie for earning the bonus points and shooting what I believe is her best ever round for Winter League!  Keep up the good work.

2 weeks of regular play and 2 weeks of make ups left.  9 weeks are needed to earn/keep your handicap for next week.  12 weeks are needed to qualify for payout.

And yes, Winter League is on for tomorrow, February 10.  The Upper Plantation parking lot has been plowed and looking forward to a great turnout.

Thank you all!
